The Information Exchange Component of the Inter-American Program on Education for Democratic Values and Practices promotes horizontal cooperation in formal and non-formal education through mechanisms and opportunities for dialogue and for the dissemination of information on key topics for the Americas.

Electronic Bulletins
Published approximately every three months to facilitate the exchange of information on priority topics. Past issues have focused on youth participation, education for conflict resolution, and human rights education, among others.

Seminars and Workshops
The Inter-American Program organizes one to two horizontal cooperation seminars on priority topics for the region every year. These seminars and workshops provide a space for policy-makers, researchers and educators to analyze priority topics in the field and to share best practices.

Mexico Seminar on Good Practices in Citizenship Education
Mexico City , July 5th - 8th, 2006
The Secretariat of Public Education of Mexico (SEP) and the Organization of American States (OAS) hosted a three - day seminar for National Coordinators of education for democratic citizenship or similar areas in the Americas and other educational leaders. The main objective of the seminar was to promote dialogue and analysis among OAS Member States regarding good practices in democratic citizenship education.
